We are proud to share with the entire team that at 360Energy we have canceled 54,000 I-RECs for the year 2024, setting a new record for the company.

🔎 What does it mean to “cancel” an I-REC?

Canceling an I-REC does not mean deleting it, but officially using it to support a company’s renewable energy consumption. It is the step in which the certificate is assigned to an end consumer and can no longer be transferred or resold. Only at that point can the use of clean energy be accounted for in sustainability reports or ESG targets.

This is the first time we have reached such a significant number of cancellations, reflecting the steady growth of our operations and our clients’ commitment to the energy transition. These certificates correspond to the commitments made with our clients, such as Bridgestone, BBVA, Danone, Acerbrag, among others.

🧐 But what are I-RECs?

International Renewable Energy Certificates are instruments that certify the renewable origin of the energy consumed. For every megawatt-hour (MWh) generated by a renewable source, one I-REC is issued. Companies can purchase them to back up their clean energy use in operations and fulfill their environmental commitments.

✔️ They are an internationally recognized tool to certify renewable energy use.

✅ They are an effective and traceable solution to reduce carbon footprints.

🌱 They allow organizations to advance their transparent ESG strategies and sustainability reporting.

🌍 They promote demand for clean generation, accelerating the energy transition.

This milestone not only reaffirms our operational capacity but also positions 360Energy as a key player in developing innovative, traceable, and sustainable energy solutions for the corporate sector. We will continue working to provide sustainable and reliable energy solutions aligned with today’s challenges.

Because the future is solar, and we are building it today.
